Updated · by Aurora Star Tech Inc.

Replay or clear the last five faults (RGPE/RGLE) on a Rheem furnace: On a power reset the dual display plays back the last five faults, newest first. Codes 82, 11, 45, 46 and 57 are not stored twice in a row.

Applies to: Rheem/Ruud RGPE / RGLE modulating furnaces

How to fix replay or clear the last five faults (rgpe/rgle): step by step

  1. Cycle power to the furnace control
  2. Watch the display: the last five faults appear, newest first
  3. To clear, flip DIP switch SW3-2 four times in a row, alternating, within 30 seconds, then return it to its original position; or use CLEAR FAULTS in the thermostat menu
Safety: Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a licensed technician. Turn off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and always follow the manufacturer's manual for your exact model.
