Thermostat placement on a Goodman furnace: Mount the thermostat about five feet above the floor on a vibration-free inside wall with good air circulation. Keep it away from drafts, dead spots behind doors, corners, and areas under supply registers or in direct sun.

- Pick an inside wall with good air movement and no vibration.
- Mount the thermostat about five feet above the floor.
- Keep it clear of drafts, dead air spots, direct sunlight and heat sources.
