Goodman Furnace: Air filter maintenance
Air filter maintenance on a Goodman furnace: Never run the furnace without a filter. Dust and lint can build up on internal parts and cause lost efficiency, damage and possible fire. Filters are not shipped with the furnace and must be supplied by the installer. Clean permanent filters or replace disposable ones every two months or as needed, using the same type and size.
Applies to: All 34.5in chassis gas furnaces
How to fix air filter maintenance: step by step
- Turn off power to the furnace before removing an upflow or counterflow filter.
- Replace the filter with one of the same type and size.
- Vacuum the blower compartment when the filter is removed, if needed.
