How to fix electrostatic discharge (esd) precautions: step by step

  1. Touch bare metal on an unpainted part of the unit, such as the gas valve or blower deck, before any service work.
  2. Touch all tools to the same unpainted surface before using them near the control.
Safety: Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a licensed technician. Turn off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and always follow the manufacturer's manual for your exact model.
