Applies to: 92G1UH furnace
How to fix burner assembly cleaning: step by step
- Turn off gas and electrical power and remove the heating compartment access panel.
- Disconnect the gas supply line and gas valve wires, labelling each wire.
- Disconnect the ignitor plug, rollout switch wires, flame sensor wire and burner ground wire, labelling each.
- Remove the four screws holding the burner/manifold assembly to the vestibule. Keep the ignitor plate from dislodging from the assembly.
- Gently clean the burner faces with a soft brush on a vacuum cleaner.
- Inspect the inside of the burners and crossovers and remove any blockage from foreign matter.
- Reinstall the burner assembly with the four existing screws. The burners self-align to the clam shells.
- Reconnect ground, flame sensor, rollout switch, ignitor, gas valve and gas supply wires.
- Check gas and electrical connections, restore power and gas, then run the furnace for 5 minutes to confirm the burners are clean and working.
