Goodman Furnace: View and clear the last 6 stored faults (L6F)

Updated · by Aurora Star Tech Inc.

View and clear the last 6 stored faults (L6F) on a Goodman furnace: The L6F menu item lists the last 6 fault codes, newest first. Read the stored code through the sight glass before opening the blower door, since opening it without holding the door switch closed erases the stored code.

Homeowner with a furnace problem? Call (647) 657-2977 or book a service call — licensed technicians across Vaughan and the GTA.

Applies to: GM9S96/AM9S96, GM9S80/AM9S80 and GM9C96/AM9C96 furnaces (7-segment control)

How to fix view and clear the last 6 stored faults (l6f): step by step

  1. Press the left or right switch until L6F shows
  2. Press the center switch and read the stored faults
  3. To erase them, keep the center switch pressed for 5 to 30 seconds; the display blinks three dashes three times, then shows L6F again
Safety: Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a licensed technician. Turn off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and always follow the manufacturer's manual for your exact model.
