What Vaughan homes usually have

Vaughan grew in waves, and you can usually tell what’s in the basement by when the street was built.

1980s and 90s homes in Woodbridge and Thornhill: most are on their second or third furnace by now. Many still have the original ductwork, which is often undersized on the return side, so a new high-efficiency furnace needs proper returns to run quietly.
2000s and 2010s subdivisions in Maple, Vellore and Patterson: lots of builder-grade furnaces and ACs reaching 15 to 20 years. These are the replacements we quote most often.
Newer townhouses and condos around the VMC and along Hwy 7: often a combi boiler or water heater feeding an air handler, or a heat pump, rather than a regular furnace.

Tip: if your furnace and AC are the original builder units and the house is 15+ years old, have them checked before you’re forced to replace them in January or July. You get time to compare options instead of taking whatever is in stock.

Water heaters

A lot of Vaughan homes still rent their water heater. We can replace a rental with an owned tank or a tankless unit, and we’re a Rinnai Pro certified installer. If you’re switching to tankless, we check the gas line size and venting first, since a tankless heater needs much more gas while it runs than a tank.
