Updated · by Aurora Star Tech Inc.

Short, practical technician tips on service & test modes for gas fireplace. Check each one against the manual for your exact model before acting.

Check gas pressure at the valve

Majestic · DVBL7 series

Reading inlet and outlet pressure on either control.

  1. Back the captured screw out 2 to 3 turns and push the gauge tubing over the test point
  2. Run the unit on high
  3. Millivolt: HI/LO knob at HI for maximum pressure
  4. After reading, tighten the screw firmly (do not over-torque) and leak-check the test point

Shut the standing pilot off temporarily

Majestic · 300DVBLN/PSC7, 400DVBLN/PSC7, 500DVBLN/PSC7 (Signature Command)

Summer shutdown or service on a standing pilot setup.

  1. Master switch ON, main burner off
  2. Hold the ON button for 3 seconds
  3. Pilot returns the next time the system is turned on
Safety: Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a licensed technician. Turn off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and always follow the manufacturer's manual for your exact model.

General guidance for qualified technicians. The manufacturer's installation and service manual and local codes always take priority.
