Circulator pump does not run on a Rinnai air handler: The external pump on the hydronic loop does not start on a call for heat.
Applies to: Rinnai Canadian hydronic air handler (CAH050E) with a Rinnai water heater/boiler
Common causes of circulator pump does not run
- No 120 V power at the pump
- Pump seized from hard water
How to fix circulator pump does not run: step by step
- Check that 120 V power is reaching the pump.
- Hard water can seize the pump. Keep the recirculation setting active (Pump menu) so the pump runs periodically and does not seize.
Safety: Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a licensed technician. Turn off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and always follow the manufacturer's manual for your exact model.
