Control mode 00 is the factory default; 01 is for a wall thermostat kit (do not select without the connection parts); 02 returns to the furnace's own panel. Do not unplug the furnace within two hours of entering remote thermostat mode or it reverts to the factory default.

A codes are natural gas, L codes are propane; digits 1 to 4 pick the altitude band.

  1. With the furnace off, hold the Test Switch on the PC board until it beeps.
  2. Pick the code with the up and down buttons.
  3. Press the Test Switch twice to store it; the display goes blank.

Switch the display between Fahrenheit and Celsius

Factory default is Fahrenheit.

  1. Furnace must be off.
  2. Press Timer 1 and Timer 2 together for about 5 seconds: the display shows ºC or ºF.
  3. Use the arrow keys to select the scale.
  4. Press ON/OFF to store it.

Turn Set back (frost protection) on or off

Rinnai · Rinnai EX08DT, EX11DT, EX17DT, EX22DT direct vent wall furnaces

Set back starts heating whenever room temperature drops below the preset minimum (38 to 78 F, default 60 F); it is on from the factory.

  1. With the furnace OFF, press Set back (light comes on).
  2. Adjust the minimum temperature with the up/down buttons.
  3. Press Set back again to turn the feature off.
Safety: Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a licensed technician. Turn off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and always follow the manufacturer's manual for your exact model.

General guidance for qualified technicians. The manufacturer's installation and service manual and local codes always take priority.
