How to fix carbon monoxide detector placement: step by step

  1. On each floor with bedrooms, place a CO detector and alarm in the living area outside the bedrooms.
  2. Also place one in the room that houses the boiler.
  3. Use detectors that comply with NFPA 720 (latest edition).
Safety: Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a licensed technician. Turn off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and always follow the manufacturer's manual for your exact model.
