Bosch Boiler: Open the service functions (Greenstar service button)

Updated · by Aurora Star Tech Inc.

Open the service functions (Greenstar service button) on a Bosch boiler: Holding the service button until it lights opens the service functions; the display shows a function number such as 1.A. Second-level functions (8.A onward) need ECO + key pad lock together. Service mode times out after 15 minutes without a button press.

Applies to: Greenstar ZBR/ZWB 21-42-3A wall-hung boilers and ZWB 28-42-3A combis

How to fix open the service functions (greenstar service button): step by step

  1. Keep the service button pressed until it lights
  2. Scroll with the key pad lock button (down) or ECO button (up)
  3. Tap the emissions test button to see a value; change it with the same two buttons
  4. Hold the emissions test button to save, or press it briefly to leave without saving
  5. Second level: with the service button lit, press ECO and key pad lock together until 8.A shows
Safety: Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a licensed technician. Turn off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and always follow the manufacturer's manual for your exact model.
